hello and welcome to the new decade. we are kicking off the 10s with a smash from the 00s - as a hinge between the decades, so to say. adas >lovestoned< was everybodys favourite track from her fabulous >adaptations< album, a milestone of romatic techno with vocal support by raz o hara. one of this songs biggest admirers is president bongo of gusgus fame. together with jack shidt he forms the dynamic duo gluteus maximus which already caused a stir with their amazing remix for sigur ros >gobbledigook< on kompakt pop. their lovestoned remix is astounding, too. sex, modern, efficient without losing one gramm of soul. the flipside is taken care of gui boratto who is never far away when techno meets pop in such a sensitive way. his remix makes all great things from the original a bit greater and its pushing the romance factor to the max.

here at the exprezoo headquarters we like to keep looking forward and to search for new and undiscovered talents, but we also like to go back to the sounds of our roots and, its not a secret, we are in love with neapolitan techno. blend these ingredients, stir for a while, and voila the fourth release on our catalog, by rio padice. actually, the kid isnt really a new one, since he s already had releases on welt,mosaiko, metroline limited and exprezoo digital besides being half of the new and hyped horacio project along with massi dl, but hes part of the new generation of neapolitan producers who keep going down the path started by marco carola and danilo vigorito. the a-side, don dragone, has a techno mood that we didnt feel for some time and that takes us back to when hardgroove was leading the dancefloors, updating and actualizing its sounds, while on the b-side elm street is made to satisfy the classiest tastes, taking the atmosphere towards a good-for-every-purpose dub techno. the last track on the ep, leviatano, keeps up the feeling we fell in love with on question and zenit, with funky percussions and sunny, warm synths.

dark beat is a new label from glasgow, set up to promote its own take on deep, dark atmospherical techno.
after the success of their digital releases this is our first dark beat remixes vinyl which has cuts from the very popular omen and untamed eps from label bosses deepbass & roman toletski.
on the a side we have oddity with a massive remix from mark broom. his remix of oddity is a no nonsense stripped back techno affair with a ripping synth line, the track teases you with a number off small drops before the massive atmospheric breakdown which would bring carnage on any dance floor.
on the b side we have the orb theory with a remix from edit select who seems to be able to to no wrong with his string of releases on his self named label edit select records. his remix explores the realms of atmospherical techno and has a straight up tribal feel about it, this track has been creating quite a fuss at berlins berghain during the early hours. the track has a percussive drive with rolling snares and a beautiful synth line that rises and fades throughout the track.

its been a hot minute since we dropped an official street bass release, but the wait has definitely been worth it. this ep is a preview of the heat that will be the >street bass anthems volume 4< mixtape, hitting on cd and digital this fall.
for those uninitiated, street bass is what starkey and dev79 have coined for their unique interpretation of bass heavy urban music. the first three volumes of the mixtape series (and the associated singles) have been runaway successes in the clubs, on the streets, and with the press!

>el condor< by pele closes a great 2009 for the label and maintains the quality levels in fine style. with just a handful of original releases since 2005, mostly for the impeccable connaisseur imprint, patrick gallenmüller aka pele has managed to make a disproportionate impact on housemusic. his releases and remixes have seen massive support and a quick check on his myspace reveals a dj diary of artists twice as prolific - a testament to the quality of his work (and his djing). the title cut of this threetrack/one remix ep sees the bavarian producer present a track which combines the simplest of elements into a hynpotic yet memorable track.

a2 is one of those tracks that will cause a lot of fun in your local recordstore when somebody tries to explain the staff the name of this track he is looking for ,-) besides that its a cool minimal-ish tricky groovetool with soulful vocals and a very unique vibe.
b1 is a classic deep and hypnotic chordanthem, slowly building in a hypnotic way and delivering its full dancefloor effect right after the main break.
the sweno n remix is perfect for the bigger floors: clean and straight production, techy vibe, driving chord stabs - this is a perfect dancefloor-destroyer for the middle of the night.
